Abstract:
    The anti-inflammatory, antinociceptive and antioxidant activities of five new synthesized paratoluene sulphonamide derivatives of amino acids were evaluated in this study. The anti-inflammatory and antinociceptive was evaluated using egg albumin induced paw edema and tail flick rat model respectively, at the dose of 400 mg/kg; while the antioxidant activity was evaluated <i>in vitro</i> using 2, 2-Diphenyl-1-Picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) scavenging and Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Power assay. The compounds produced various degrees of anti-inflammatory and antinociceptive activities but did not produce antioxidant effect. The sulphonamide derivative has anti-inflammatory and antinociceptive properties and can be used as drug for this purpose.
