XRD Studies on Titanium Substituted Manganese-Zinc Ferrite System, Mn0.8+xZn0.2TixFe2-2xO4 with x=0.10, 0.15, 0.20

Abstract:

Mn0.8+x Zn0.2TixFe2-2xO4 where x=0.1, 0.15, 0.20 were prepared by conventional solid state reaction technique starting with AR grade MnO, ZnO, TiO2 and Fe2O3. Final sintering was done at 1150°C for 20 hours followed by slow cooling to room temperature. The sample was analyzed by X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Particle size determination, SEM and EDX. The comparison of XRD results with JCPDS files confirmed the single phase spinel structure. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) studies revealed that the average grain size of samples as 10μm. EDX spectrum shows the elements of the sample. X-ray instrumental broadening analysis was used to evaluate the size and lattice strain by the Williamson-Hall Plot method.
